Facts about LED
- LEDs contains no hazardous substances like mercury, halogen or lead
- 90% of the energy put into a LED becomes light and 10% becomes heat. This means the energyconsumption per lumen is lower than for other lightsources
- The LEDs emits no UV-radiation which is positive for all fragile materials being lit up.
- LEDs are easy to control and dim which saves even more energy
- The lifetime of 50 000 hours (about 17 years of normal use) means that less lightsources have to be changed and recycled.
- Lifetime is not affected by the LED being turned off and on
- LEDs are not sensitive for vibrations
- LEDs are run on low voltage which makes them safe even if failure occurs
