It is an art piece but also a 3D screen. Built of 1728 heads. 35.000 parts. 24.000 LED lamps.
The cube have a dimension of 3x3x3 meters. Inside its possible to show 3D movements, movies and texts.

Italian LineaLight has come with an exciting collection of fixtures under the name of MA & DE - Materials and Design. We think the collection meets the expectations, we find creative solutions and unexpected materials such as carbon fiber, mosaic, wood and processed metal. Stockholm Lightings favorite is My Tube, a flexible fitting in lacquered aluminum with 2W LEDs as light sources. The luminaire is available in several models, from a small table lamp with 2 LED to a floor lamps with 6 LEDs.

 Right now in progress lighting upgrades at the World Trade Center in central Stockholm. The work carried out by Electricity and Lighting Design and Lighting Stockholm has been involved in developing solutions for both white light and effektbelyning. In December, large parts of the lighting in the public areas changed from halogen to LED. In addition to energy savings as the new fixtures to drastically reduce maintenance, which gives great advantages in rooms frequently used 24 hours a day. The picture shows a 3 x 2 W LED luminaire from iLéD which replaces 25 W halogen in several public passages.
Right now underway assembly and programming of a new lighting effects that will produce interesting effects on the large glass roof of the house's entrance. We will return with pictures of this.

 Alpha LED has extended its range of high quality LED downlights with a luminaire with a top class color rendering  - Ra value is above the 97. The luminaire is available with 400 or 700 lumens and is ideal for shops where it in   addition to good lighting creates little heat and have a lifespan of 50 000 hours with less than 7% decline in light. Just before Christmas  the first installation in Sweden  was done in the shop APlace in Stockholm. The result was beyond our expectations.

 Kemijärvi located in northern Finland about 10 mil northeast of Rovaniemi. The area produced much power and Kemijärvi Power Plant is one of Finland's largest power plant. At this latitude, the winters are long and dark and and it is very gratifying to work with light installations. Lighting Designer Ilkka Volanen has creatively decorated the powerplant's large huskropp and chimney. Fixtures used are 9 pc Color Kinetics Color Reach, which cover the different diffusion lenses to cover the entire building. The control system is a LPC1 from Pharos Controls

Stockholm's new meeting place - Stockholm Waterfront - with congress facilities, hotels and offices are now beginning to take shape in the center of Stockholm. Stockholm Lighting is proud to have had the confidence to supply all lighting to the congress halls and surrounding rooms. The order includes fixtures, light bulbs, and performance test stocks and logistics. Project management, Jarl Asset Management, place high demands on delivery precision and quality as required in order that the highly compressed construction site sakll functioning. To meeting the requirements Stockholm Lighting has developed a logistics system that provides continuous control of products and their position through the entire delivery process. First delivery is 1 March and is expected to last September.

 Malmö has in recent years has invested substantial resources to become one of Europe's premier lighting cities, partly through the popular Festival of Lights "Malmö by light", but also by taking a number of locations with permanent effect lighting. The latest project is the illumination of the bridge 400 at the train station where water is used as a mirror which gives a very interesting effect. Responsible for lighting designer is John Maurice of Malmö City. Fixtures, C-splash, based on the RGB diodes so that they can change color and lighting to create different games on bronze pillars and on the water surface according to season and mood.

Liljeholmens new shoppingmall with over 90 shops and restaurants is now complete and was opened October 22. The two LED walls of the parking garage was received very positively by the customers who came by car. On both floors one and two plane diode walls clearly mark the entrance to the mall, and offers the opportunity to create an ever-changing first impression for visitors. The walls consist of a total of slightly more than 9000 nodes - all individually addressed and controlable. That means endless opportunities to create motion, art, texts and messages that can increase the comfort and safety in the garage. Architect: Wester and Elsner. Welcome to Liljeholmen!

Rockheim  - Norways new museum of Pop and Rock is now getting ready to receive the public. The 4 top floors of the building are covered by glass  on which the most famous albumcovers from the last centuries are printed in white. This gives the building a great character at daytime.

Under the glass almost 14 000 LED nodes are mounted and when they are lit up at night the character of the building changes dramatically. Right now 2 facades are ready and tested and the two remaining are under construction. Four skilled fitters are currently working high up to finish the installation.

The fittings are iColor Flex SLX and the control system a LPC90 from Pharos Controls.

 The artist and designer Jenny Nolstam has extensive experience working with dynamic lighting in their work. Her latest project, for family housing in Årstadal, consists of a series of arches and portals in steel with LED lighting. There are also a number of bright palettes, time capsule, placed in the yard.
The project used Jenny iColorFlex SLX, which was mounted in the mounting rails on the arches. The control system is a LPC1 from Pharos Controls.

In q4, a longed-for sequel to best-sellers icole Flex SL and icolor Flex SLX. The new loops called icole Flex MX and Flex icole LMX and has the same power but up to three times higher brightness. Standard dimensions are 100 mm or 300 mm between the nodes, but customer-specific loops can be ordered from 76 mm to 305 mm. Connection cables are separate and are available in lengths up to 30 meters.

As an accessory to icole Flex LMX are spherical lenses which provide opportunities to create effects that colored light bulbs and classic lightchains.

 In october the winner of Swedish Lighting price 2009 was presented for 16th time at the Globe Quality Hotel. The nightclub Push the interior and lighting design by Alexander Lervik was one of the nominated items. Then we at Stockholm Lighting supplied, programmed and operating sat much of the light to the project, it was a nervous wait on the result. But unfortunately it was an honorable mention again. We are very pleased to have been nominated and would like to congratulate Ljusarkitektur - Kai Piipo and Clara Fraenkel to a well-deserved prize.

 Alpha LED is our newest family of LED fixtures. It is a downlight with the most efficient diodes providing a light amount of up to 1,000 lumens. The armature has a very clever design that separates the diodes and phosphor layer, which reduces degradation of phosphorus and thus increases the life of the luminaire.  The expansive and innovative furniture company Design Jackson was looking for a luminaire to be placed above the table in her showroom in central Stockholm. Course design was an important factor but also the amount of light was sufficient and that the light went to settle according to need in a simple manner.
SPEED fittings Zoox with its flexible format and unique combination of fluorescent lamps and spotlights were to align perfectly to the needs. During the summer of 2009 assembled on the spot and v are very pleased with the outcome!

Bosphorus

 Bosphorus Bridge is a little over 1500 m long suspension bridge in Istanbul, connecting the Asian side of Istanbul with the European side of town. The bridge was completed in 1973 and is a major artery in western Turkey. In 2008/2009, created a completely new lighting of the bridge, completely based on LED technology from Color Kinetics. Stockholm Lighting Ian Fanning was responsible for the technical project management and control and programming - a job that has become one of its biggest challenges. Fixtures highlighting the bridge piers are Color and Color Reach Blast, the wires are specially designed Color Graze and the balustrade is used icole Accent Cove.

In Trondheim is being built by a Norwegian center for pop and rock history. The new museum is more than a year in a virtual version of www.rockheim.no but now being built, therefore the physical location. Architects are Håvard Skarstein and Ogmund Sörli at Pier II in Trondheim. In an old granary warehouse on the quay in Trondheim, the visitor will be offered 6 floors with Norwegian pop and rock history. Externally, the top of the building - an add-on top of the old flour warehouse - a very special design. The facade of this part of the building faced with glass panels printed with motifs from the Norwegian rock and pophistorien. Behind the glass sits diodes, which makes the whole huskroppen into a giant low resolution screen. During the hours of darkness, the old flour warehouse to become a floating roof box which will be seen far out in the Trondheim fjord. Stockholm Lighting supplies and installs point-lights, about 13,000 nodes Philips icole Flex SLX and a command and control LPCx from Pharos Controls. Installation work started in late August and the opening of the Rock Heim is scheduled for 1 December 2009.

Kristina Matoush has created a unique clock out of the circular roof of the Hyllie Station in Malmö. Around the roof LED-fixtures are mounted in order to create a smooth lighteffect that travels around the roof in one minute.

The construction of Liljeholmen Centrum in southern Stockholm is in its final stage. In october the new "green" shoppingcenter will open and the citizens of Liljeholmen will have a brand new mall instead of a large constructionsite. Citycon, one of Scandinavias leading developer of commercial space, has worked with ecological sustainable methods through the whole project. When the architects of Westner&Elsner wanted to create a wall of light the choice of lightsource was of course LEDs. Togethr with Stockholm Lighting they have created a 500 m2 wall that will be the first impression of the center for all visitors entering the center from the parking garage.

The boat is built by Aker Shipyards in Turku and will be the worlds mots valuable cruiseship ever built. In fall 2009 it will leave Finland for its first trip on the seas.

SLCAB deliuvers compnents for the interactive artpiece "lyra", developed by SICS and Interactive institute. It consists of six cylinders lit by iColor FLlex SLX all floating in the air in the hall of the Electrm Building. Lyra reflects the activities in the house. The more people passing the four bluetooth detectors pleced in the entrées the more light Lyra emits. It is also programmed to be able to reflect the energyconsumption of the building.

 

AFA insurance goes LED

AFA insurance company are restoring their offices in central Stockholm. One important actor in the process was to achive a workplace lighting with both good ergonomy and low enegryconsumption. Together with lighting designer Peter Nilsson at Node and Struktur who are projectleaders, the staff at AFA have evaluated different solutions. Casino facade in new light

After sevreal mock-ups the fasade at Casino Cosmopol in Stockholm is lit up. The fasade is lit by 18 ColorBlast and in the entrence Flex SLX have been placed in the ceiling to make a dynamic light. The pillars besides the doors are lit by LED-fixtures from iLED.

 

Light control system for Museum for Contemporary Arts

SLCAB supplies a new control system to the Museum for Contemporary Arts in Stockholm. With over 3000 fixtures divided in 1200 circuits it is a challenge to control lighting for all the expositions at the Museum. Stockholm Lighting Company supplies LED-lighting for conference-rooms and corridors at Newsecs head office in Stockholm. LED tecnique was chosen partly because of its low UV-mission as a lot of art is kept in the offices. Newsec also tales great intrest in new technique and energysaving which also contributed to the choice of lightsources.
